NOTE: THIS IS A SELF-PACED COURSE WITH A FIXED START AND END DATE.
You will be given access to the course material, and to a DataPower appliance in order to perform the labs, for a period of 4 days from the designated start date. At the end of the class period, your access will be removed. No extensions to the access period are possible.
This self-paced course does not involve a live instructor.
Please note that your enrollment will be confirmed shortly after you enroll, but you will not be sent the details on how to access the course and the lab environment until approximately 3 days before the designated class start date.
Self-paced virtual classroom (SPVC) courses provide the same deep technical content as WebSphere Education classroom courses, but allow you to learn on your own schedule. You can stop and start a self-paced virtual class as needed during the 4-day access period.
There is no live instructor for this course, so it may not be appropriate for you who require the guidance of a live instructor.
This self-paced course combines streaming lecture with a hands-on lab exercise to introduce participants to the integration of the structured query language (SQL) with the DataPower appliance.
In the course lecture, you will learn multiple options for accessing a SQL database from within a processing rule of a service policy. SQL calls are issued from a SQL Action, from XSL transformations through the dp:sql-execute(), or from a DataPower extension function. These SQL calls perform create, read, update, delete operations to the data located in the database and execute stored procedures.
DataPower database support consistently grows more sophisticated. Capabilities such as parameter markers and full support for stored procedures invocations enable greater use of native database technologies.
The course concludes with a hands-on lab exercise that shows how to configure a multiprotocol gateway (MPG) to interact with a SQL database. The MPG receives a SOAP message from an external source. The service policy of the MPG changes the input SOAP message to a format that the back-end web services understand. The content of an element of the message is changed to a value returned from a SQL database.
You will implement three use cases during the lab exercise.
THIS IS A SELF-PACED VIRTUAL CLASS. ONCE YOU REGISTER, YOU HAVE 4 DAYS TO COMPLETE THE COURSE.
