This self-paced course provides students with an intermediate-level overview of integrating WebSphere Transformation Extender V8.3 with WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V7.0. The course focuses on application development using the WebSphere Transformation Extender map mediation module in WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation flows.
In this course, students learn how to use the WebSphere Transformation Extender map mediation primitive and WebSphere Transformation Extender data binding in a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation flow to provide complex mapping. The course begins with a review of both WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus and WebSphere Transformation Extender and describes the advantages and additional capabilities provided by the WebSphere Transformation Extender map mediation primitive in WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus. Students learn about the integration application that is needed to develop, test, deploy, and run WebSphere Transformation Extender maps within a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus mediation flow.
Students then explore how to construct mediation flows with various configurations, such as integrating a map using a data binding and integrating a map using a map mediation primitive. Finally, students learn about error handling and troubleshooting techniques to use in both development and production environments.
Throughout the course, hands-on lab exercises enable students to reinforce their learning by gaining practical experience with the skills and concepts that are discussed in the lectures. Topics covered in the hands-on labs include creating and testing mediation flows with the WebSphere Transformation Extender map mediation module, problem determination, and error handling.
