Learn how to install and configure Red Hat or SUSE Linux on your personal workstation and how to use this workstation in your day-to-day business. Also, learn about file management, shell basics, process monitoring, and basic system configuration.
The course and the labs are available 24 hours a day, but they must be scheduled in advance, after you access the course online. Online instructor help is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
The self-paced format gives you the opportunity to complete the course at your convenience, at any location, and at your own pace.

This is a basic course for individuals with an interest in Linux, but who have little or no actual knowledge or experience. Linux is a UNIX-like operating system, but this course is recommended for individuals with little or no UNIX experience.

This runtime can be downloaded at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html for the particular operating system that is needed. Once the Runtime Environment is downloaded it is recommended that the currently installed Runtime Environment be uninstalled before the new Runtime Environment is installed.
