The incorporation of PHP in i5/OS opens up a new development language for web-based access to DB2/400 data. This course will discuss the uses of PHP, how to obtain and install PHP in i5/OS, installing the PHP development environment, PHP syntax, accessing DB2/400 and i5/OS APIs from PHP The course will also introduce the ability to use PHP with MySQL to deploy open source appplications in i5/OS. This course contains both instructor-led lecture as well as hands-on labs.
With its easy-to-use development approach, PHP is a natural fit for i5/OS customers and developers offering improved productivity and rapid deployment. Having PHP capabilities for i5/OS makes available existing PHP-based components and applications to System i customers. PHP applications are easily integrated with data in IBM DB2 Universal Database and RPG, COBOL, and other business applications on i5/OS. Existing open source PHP applications can also be deployed with MySQL in the PASE environment.
