This is a basic course for iSeries technical sales specialists who require IBM Certification by taking Test 867. This includes iSeries technical solutions sales specialists who design client hardware and software solutions to solve business needs.

Assist and advise a client on how to implement iSeries hardware and software

Assist the client to configure communications

Advise the client regarding various system management functions including:

• system values
• memory pools
• disk pools
• use of iSeries Navigator Management Central

Advise and assist the client in the following areas:

• configuration of system resources
• implementation of backup and recovery procedures
• system problem determination
• installation and use of the basic features of iSeries Access and Navigator for Windows
• installation and configuration of TCP/IP
• basic use of Performance Tools
• configuration of IBM Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Server for iSeries
• management of system problems and Program Temporary Fixes (PTF)
• iSeries new workload solution areas (Windows, Linux, WebSphere, and Lotus) required to meet the business need
