This browser-based product simulation let's you "learn-by-doing" in a case-study scenario in which you solve a 'real-life' business problem - no installations needed just a browser and a passion to learn.
By the end of this training you'll have a better understanding of this InfoSphere product's terminology, an overview of its architecture, and a better understanding of how it can be implemented.

Before you enter the Guided Tour Product Simulation and troubleshoot a problem, this course will begin by talking about the Information Analyzer's architecture including its supporting databases, agent, and platform.
Then, we'll discuss some installation considerations and steps that should be performed after the installation.
Next, in a guided tour product simulation, you'll do the driving while we talk about how to configure Information Analyzer and Information Server and common troubleshooting techniques.
Finally, we'll take a look at some error messages and then talk about some standard or basic practices as well as tips and tricks to resolving potential issues.
Although this tutorial will address some particular environments' issues, it will tend to focus on problems that could occur across the board with Windows, UNIX, Linux, AIX, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, various versions of Information Analyzer and Information Server, etc.

This basic course is for:
- Technical professionals working with Information Analyzer (Typically not Business Analysts unless they are quite technical)
- Support teams to the Business Analyst
- People on the technical side working with WebSphere
- DBA's on the team
- UNIX Administrators (If IA is on UNIX or Linux)
- The person who has access to the file system and the logs
Prerequisites
You should have:
- A strong familiarity with the Information Analyzer (IA) tool.
- A working relationship with the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) person at your company (especially if you will be working with LDAP instead of using the internal registry
- A rudimentary understanding of the Information Server platform: For instance, IA uses DataStage jobs to run IA processes
Skills taught
- Understand the basic architecture of the platform as it relates to troubleshooting
- Identify where the logs are located, what they're called, and how they can help you become aware of some of the most common issues and how to resolve them
- Validate proper configurations that link the various architectural pieces together
- Validate proper installation and configuration settings
