The team lead requires a distinct personality type to succeed and serves as a facilitator for both the product owner and the team. The best team leads are real team players, who receive as much satisfaction from facilitating others’ success as their own.
This role is typically filled by a project manager or a technical team leader whose primary job is to act as a facilitator and remove impediments to the ability of the team to deliver the iteration goals. He/She acts as a buffer between the team and any distracting influences.
