This 2-day instructor-led course provides students with an overview of business process management (BPM) and the business integration software offered by IBM, including IBM WebSphere Business Modeler, WebSphere Integration Developer, WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere Business Services Fabric, and WebSphere Business Monitor.

Business process management helps businesses define and implement strategic business goals, and then measure their financial and operational performance against these goals. By using IBM's integrated suite of robust business process management tools and a service-oriented architecture (SOA), an organization can gain the power of optimal results from BPM life cycle activities.

In this course, students learn how IBM's business integration software enables organizations to obtain business information faster, to respond more quickly to market trends and competitive threats, and to improve operational efficiencies and business results. Through instructor-led lectures and walkthrough exercises, students apply BPM principles by using IBM's business integration software to work on case studies that emulate real-world problems. Topics include modeling business processes using WebSphere Business Modeler, assembling solutions with WebSphere Integration Developer, simulating dynamic assembly of business services using WebSphere Business Services Fabric, managing business processes with WebSphere Business Monitor, and enabling an SOA with WebSphere Process Server.

Students also learn about additional IBM business integration products, which expand the ability of an organization's IT infrastructure to leverage existing applications and services and handle transactions with trading partners.
