Kursbeskrivning: IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS 8.6 Operations

This course teaches how to use IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS ISPF panels to monitor, and manage IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS controlled batch work in z/OS environments. Through instructor-led lectures and hands-on exercises, students are taught the skills required to monitor and manage work in the current plan. Along with panel navigation, some of the skills taught include browsing the current plan, customizing ready and error list layouts, and modifying the current plan to add new occurrences, change operations, or correct and restart failed operations.

This is a basic course for system operators and production control staff who monitor and restart batch jobs in a Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS environment.

Students should have:

• Basic z/OS operator skills

• Describe the basic TWS for z/OS job scheduling components
• Tailor your TWS for z/OS user ISPF dialog profile
• Use the TWS for z/OS ISPF dialog to query the status of work in progress
• Define Workstation Ready List Layouts
• Use Workstation Ready Lists to:
  • Specify overrides
  • Edit JCL for jobs in the current plan
  • Change the status of operations in the current plan.
• Correct and restart failed operations at Job level and step level
• Rerun completed operations Job level and step level
• Replace existing JCL or scripts for jobs in the current plan
• Add and delete dependencies for operations in the current plan
• Change operation workstations in the current plan
• Suppress or enable the execution of selected jobs in the current plan
• Modify job-run and job-start options for operations in the current plan
• Modify data set cleanup action lists for restarted jobs
• Add unscheduled (adhoc / onrequest) work to the current plan
