The IBM PureFlex System is a new category of computing that combines multiple server architectures, networking, chassis, storage, and system management capability into a single integrated system that is easy to deploy and manage.
This introductory class on Power compute nodes starts with a through overview of the IBM Flex System components. We discuss the value of these new systems, terminology and components. Next is the new IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis along with the x86 compute node, systems management, and the external storage device - IBM Storwize V7000.
Building on that foundation we start with an IBM Power Systems overview, a comprehensive review of the IBM Flex System Power compute nodes, PowerVM and virtualization concepts, how to manage Power node virtual servers, and last Power node software installation.
Målgrupp
Enrollment in this course is not restricted. However, typical students taking this basic course include technical IBM personnel from the FTSS, ATS, and Techline organizations as well as business partner technical personnel involved with planning, installation, configuration, and upgrading of IBM PureFlex systems.
