This course provides you with the information on what's new in PowerHA SystemMirror 7.x, followed by information on upgrading to the 7.1.1 version of the product. It is specifically for PowerHA SystemMirror 7 and later. Migration requirements and techniques are covered including AIX upgrade requirements. The concepts are supported by lab exercises on AIX 6.1, migrating from PowerHA 5.5.
This course provides lectures and hands-on labs in a face-to-face classroom setting. The course is also offered in a live virtual classroom environment (ILO - Instructor Led Online) with hands-on labs PowerHA SystemMirror 7 Migration (ILO) (AX650).

This intermediate course is intended for those of you who are experienced PowerHA or HACMP system administrators who are responsible for the planning and execution of a PowerHA SystemMirror 7.1.1 upgrade.
Förkunskaper
You should have:
- an intermediate-level knowledge of PowerHA SystemMirror or HACMP
- and AIX TCPI/IP and LVM.
This can be obtained by taking PowerHA SystemMirror 7 Planning, Implementing, Customizing, Administrating (AN610).
Mål
This course will focus on the new features of PowerHA 7.x, including requirements and migrations options for migrating from PowerHA 5.5 to PowerHA 7.1.1. Having completed this course, you should be able to do the following:
- Understand the new features of PowerHA SystemMirror 7.x
- Plan a migration to PowerHA 7.1.1
- Prepare the existing cluster environment for migration to PowerHA 7.1.1
- Migrate a cluster to PowerHA 7.1.1 using three methods
- Use the new menu structure in PowerHA 7.x to perform system administration tasks
