IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms (SAMP or TSA) delivers high availability to applications and middleware spanning any combination of Linux, AIX, or z/OS platforms.
TSA contains two orderable components:
TSA is designed to provide high availability for critical business applications and middleware through policy-based self-healing that is easily tailored to your individual application environment. It includes plug and play automation policy modules for many IBM and non-IBM middleware and applications such as DB2, WebSphere, Apache and mySAP business suite.
This training class is provided with multiple opportunities for hands-on lab exercises in a Linux VMware image environment for the TSA portion. You will also learn how to monitor the systems involved in the TSA component.
A second portion of this course instructs you on the use of the TSA base component within an IBM InfoSphere Balanced Warehouse system.
Finally, some troubleshooting techniques will be addressed.
This advanced course is intended for system administrators, DBAs, and implementers who are responsible for implementing IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms base component within a Balanced Warehouse system. This may include:
IBM Tivoli SAMP (TSA) overview
Planning for TSA installation
TSA Automation Policy
TSA Administration and Operation
TSA Operations Console
The D5100 Balanced Warehouse system and TSA
Using TSA in the Balanced Warehouse
Troubleshooting TSA and the Balanced Warehouse
The minimum hardware and software required to launch the course are:
Network Speed Test
For example, a speed test against the server with a slow connection of 140 Kbps download and 28 Kbps upload took 14 minutes to load a 30min recording before the video began. Extrapolate from this result to estimate approximately how fast your network internet access would be.
High-speed broadband internet access is the recommended configuration for this course.
If you use a different character keyboard, you may experience errors when entering passwords. If possible, change your language/country settings for your keyboard to USA, which allows you to enter characters as in a QWERTY keyboard.
