Note: This is a self-paced online course in which the Guided Tour Product Simulation requires no installations: Everything is through your IE 5.0+ browser. Please DO NOT make travel arrangements for this course. After you receive confirmation that you are registered, just follow the instructions to access the course.

This browser-based product simulation let's you "learn-by-doing" and will put you in charge of the installation process and require that you interact with UNIX, , QualityStage, and DataStage environments within the tutorial's 'Guided Tour Product Simulation' environment. - no installations needed just a browser and a passion to learn.

By the end of this training you'll have a better understanding of installing QualityStage, its terminology, and a better understanding of how it can be implemented.

This course will put you in charge of the installation process and require that you interact with UNIX, QualityStage, and DataStage environments within the tutorial's 'guided tour simulation' environment.

You will learn by doing and benefit from expert instruction as you go. We will begin by opening up a UNIX terminal's command window, logging on, and mounting the Installation CD. Then you'll perform some required steps to prepare the server where QualityStage will be installed. Then you'll install QualityStage server by locating and running an Installation script. We'll discuss the various options, interfaces, and recommended particulars of QualityStage's installation. Next, you'll test the installation of the QualityStage server by moving over to a Windows box, where the QualityStage client is installed, and test the connection between the client and the server.

You'll move some sample data to the server and run a QualityStage job. Then you'll enable DataStage to call QualityStage by installing a Plug-in within DataStage. After some configuration, you'll actually run a DataStage job that calls the QualityStage job. You'll look at the data before and after to determine a successful installation.

By the end of this training you'll have an understanding of the installation process of QualityStage server and client components. We will walk through the steps needed to install QualityStage on a single UNIX machine in an SMP environment. You'll test the success of your installation, test for successful connectivity between the server and the client. You'll go on to connect QualityStage to DataStage and run a DataStage job that calls and runs a QualityStage job. By the end of this online training, you should be able to do the following:

• Serve as a System Administrator to prepare your server for a QualityStage installation
• Act as a QualityStage Administrator and install QualityStage server
