NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE SELF-PACED COURSE. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS COURSE.

This course provides an overview of the WebSphere Default Messaging function included in WebSphere Application Server V6.0 and V6.1. WebSphere Default Messaging is based on the Service Integration Bus (SIBus) technology. The course focuses on the use of the SIBus as an implementation of a Java Message Service (JMS) provider. Java Message Service is a J2EE API specification for allowing applications to communicate asynchronously using messages.

The course covers the basic components of the Service Integration Bus and the JMS API, including their runtime behavior and the relationship between them. Students explore various configuration options, learning how the components can be used in highly available and scalable topologies. Finally, the course describes the configuration required to create a secure JMS environment within a Service Integration Bus.

The course consists of three lecture units, designed primarily for administrators rather than developers. While some of the Java objects used by JMS application developers are described, no coding examples are given.

Students develop a good understanding of SIBus and JMS components and behaviors, preparing them to evaluate options for creating a messaging environment.

THIS IS A SELF-PACED VIRTUAL CLASS. ONCE YOU REGISTER, YOU HAVE 60 DAYS TO COMPLETE THE COURSE.
