NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE SELF-PACED VIRTUAL COURSE. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS COURSE.

Self-paced virtual courses provide the same deep technical content as our classroom courses, but allow you to learn on your own schedule. You can stop and start a Self-Paced Virtual class as needed during the 60-day access period.

There is no live instructor for this course, so it may not be appropriate for students who require the guidance of a live instructor. In such cases, students should consider the alternative versions of this course:

  • Classroom delivery: Administration of IBM WebSphere Process Server V7 (WB722)
  • Instructor-led online delivery: Administration of IBM WebSphere Process Server V7 (Remote Classroom) (VB722)

This five-day instructor-led introductory course teaches students the skills they need to install, configure, and administer IBM WebSphere Process Server for Multiplatforms V7, a high-performance business engine at the heart of business process management (BPM) and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

This course covers how to install IBM WebSphere Process Server V7 in a network deployment environment. Students learn about the various deployment topologies available for IBM WebSphere Process Server, as well as the deployment options for various WebSphere Process Server components. This course also teaches students about the selection criteria for choosing an appropriate deployment topology.

Students also learn how WebSphere Process Server uses the service integration bus (WebSphere Platform Messaging) for all asynchronous communications. Understanding how the service integration bus works and knowing how to integrate it into the design of a topology are necessary for building a highly available WebSphere Process Server architecture. Finally, students learn about the service integration bus and how to configure it to support high availability and workload management.

Hands-on exercises on the Linux platform are provided throughout the course, giving students practical experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting a highly available WebSphere Process Server environment. Through the labs, students deploy IBM WebSphere Process Server in a clustered environment and verify their deployment. In addition, students deploy a basic WebSphere Process Server application and use it to test the capabilities of the WebSphere Process Server environment.
