This three-day instructor-led course teaches you the concepts and application programming interfaces (APIs) that are used to develop applications with IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale.
WebSphere eXtreme Scale operates as an in-memory data grid that dynamically manages application data and business logic across multiple servers, providing architects and developers with a solution for addressing scalability and performance issues through advanced caching and grid technology.
This introductory course covers the basic architecture of, and administrative concepts related to, WebSphere eXtreme Scale. The course begins with an overview of the WebSphere eXtreme Scale product and grid technology. You will then learn how to use the various WebSphere eXtreme Scale APIs and programming models that are available for application development, including ObjectMap, EntityManager, and DataGrid. In addition, you will learn best practices for deploying and administering WebSphere eXtreme Scale solutions.
Hands-on exercises reinforce the concepts that are discussed in the lectures, providing you with practical experience developing and modifying applications using WebSphere eXtreme Scale APIs, including APIs that provide access to the backing map, partitions, entity manager, and Java Persistence API (JPA) loaders. The exercises also enable you to build skills in administering WebSphere eXtreme Scale, as well as implementing and configuring applications that persist session data.
