The IBM PureFlex System is a new category of computing that combines multiple server architectures, networking, chassis, storage, and system management capability into a single integrated system that is easy to deploy and manage.
This introductory class on networking starts with a through overview of the IBM Flex System components. We discuss the value of these new systems, terminology and components. Next is the new IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis along with the x86 and Power compute nodes, systems management, and the external storage device - IBM Storwize V7000. Building on that foundation we look at the IBM Flex System I/O architecture, a comprehensive review of the IBM Flex System I/O adapters and the Scalable Switch Elements along with introducing some key networking features in IBM Flex System components.
This is a basic course for individuals who are involved in the planning, installing, configuring and upgrading of IBM Systems.
