IBM Cognos 8 BI SDK for Developers (v8.4) is a three-day, instructor-led course designed to help accelerate development efforts, by introducing you to basic Web services concepts and technologies. This course will also help you learn how to customize and automate common IBM Cognos 8 BI SDK tasks. These tasks include user authentication, single sign-on, report execution and maintenance, portal maintenance, and more. Hands-on workshops reinforce the concepts and features learned in each module and come complete with solution files. You will also see how to set up and test IBM Cognos 8.4 sample custom authentication providers.

Workshops and solutions are provided in Java and C#.

Practical experience with Object Oriented Programming (Java or C#) is required, and knowledge of XML and Web Services is highly recommended. This course also assumes a working knowledge of IBM Cognos 8 BI - Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and IBM Cognos Connection.
