This is a demo-based, instructor-led online (D-ILO) class. It is an Internet based class with a live instructor, so please do not make travel arrangements. After you receive confirmation that you are enrolled, you will be sent further instructions on how to access audio and video.
This course describes the concepts and configuration details when implementing PowerVM Live Partition Mobility, which is available for POWER6 and POWER7 processor-based servers. You will learn the requirements of Live Partition Mobility and will see the configuration of HMCs, Virtual I/O Servers, and partitions in preparation for an active or inactive migration. Instructor demonstrations will allow you to see configuration and testing of Live Partition Mobility operations.
This course uses a combination of instructor lecture and instructor-led demonstrations to provide you with practical background knowledge of the topics covered.

This advanced training is for AIX/Linux technical support individuals, system administrators, system architects and engineers, and anyone who needs a technical operational understanding of PowerVM Live Partition Mobility.

You must be proficient with HMC Version 7, Virtual I/O Server operations, and AIX system administration.
