This course was built using the following software versions, however, the concepts in the course are version-agnostic and apply beyond this particular environment:

Information Server and DataStage Versions 8.1
Clients installed on Windows 7
Corresponding version of the Pack for Siebel
Coincidentally, version 8.1 of Siebel

Again, most concepts discussed extend beyond this particular version and are designed to give you core, version-agnostic, reference, and tutorial knowledge).

In a simulation, this FlexLearning course lets you 'drive' the UIs in which you will see how to set up a connection between Information Server and Siebel and then perform various loads and extracts(The entire simulation will be within your IE 5+ browser).

This course begins by discussing the concepts involved including problems that industry faces and how the integration of Information Server/DataStage and Siebel can help solve them. We also talk about the PACKs in general. We'll cover the PACK for Siebel in particular. We briefly cover the architecture, the functionality, and the benefits of this PACK. We will discuss the three Stages that are included in this PACK (The Direct Access Stage, the Business Component Stage, and the EIM Stage)

In a Guided Tour Product Simulation you will do the following:

Review a job that uses the Direct Access Stage
Create a job from scratch that uses the Direct Access Stage
Create an extract job and then a load job with the Business Component Stage
Perform an extract of data from Siebel using the EIM Stage

Note: This is a self-paced online course in which the Guided Tour Product Simulation requires no installations: Everything is through your IE 5.0+ browser. The browser-based product simulation lets you 'learn-by-doing' in a case-study scenario in which you solve a 'real-life' business problem using InfoSphere products.

Please DO NOT make travel arrangements for this course. After you receive confirmation that you are registered, just follow the instructions to access the course. Once you receive your access information, you will have 1 year to complete this course (Customers with multi-user subscriptions to the entire FlexLearning library have access length specified in their agreement).
