The workshop describes the major performance and availability changes as well as the performance characteristics of many new functions.
It is based on the IBM Redbook DB2 9 for z/OS Performance Topics, SG24-7473. It helps you starting to evaluate the contents of DB2 9 for z/OS 9 both in terms of functions and performance and provides the type of information needed to start justifying and planning a migration to V9. It describes the measurements implemented by the DB2 Performance Department and, by helping you understand the performance implications of migrating from DB2 V8 to DB2 V9, highlights the key performance functions and sets the right expectations.
It provides the type of information needed to evaluate the performance impact of key DB2 9 for z/OS functions and major capacity planning needs.
This workshops is not a duplication of the general DB2 performance class and it is not a transition class about all DB2 9 functions.
