A thorough introduction to the specific concepts of IBM Content Manager (CM) Version 8 for all platforms (Windows, UNIX, Linux, and z/OS). Learn component concepts, including library server, resource manager, and client configuration and usage; document modeling, including attribute and item type definitions; document routing; user authentication and authorization; and storage.
Learn how to administer and configure an IBM CM system, and how to model, load, and manipulate documents. Gain practical experience through hands-on lab exercises designed to demonstrate the lecture concepts. Gain an overview of installation concepts. The hands-on labs for this course do not include installation and are taught only in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Note: Although the hands-on lab exercises for the course are conducted in Microsoft Windows, they are applicable to all platforms, including UNIX, Linux, and z/OS. Platform differences are addressed in course materials and lectures. This class does not discuss Content Manager OnDemand or Programming (see Data Management course IM251).
