Cursusbeschrijving: IBM PowerVM VIOS Workshop for IBM i

PowerVM Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) is part of the storage and networking strategy for many IBM i clients, but it requires new skills to design, implement and manage VIOS-based solutions on IBM i partitions.

This 3-day workshop, taught by Keith Zblewski from the iTC in Rochester, will help you obtain skills to design and deploy VIOS partitions to host storage and networking for IBM i client partitions. Through lecture and hands-on lab activities, students will learn the key concepts needed to install and configure VIOS partitions and to configure IBM i partitions so they can be hosted by VIOS. Instruction on the management, operations and maintenance of VIOS partitions will also be provided.

This course is for:

• IBM i systems administrators and architects that are working with IBM i workloads that will be hosted by VIOS.
• Storage and networking administrators that are implementing solutions that include IBM Power Systems with VIOS and IBM i partitions.

• Basic knowledge of storage management and networking concepts on IBM i
