					<title>IBM Scientists Reinvent Medical Diagnostic Testing</title>

					IBM scientists have created a one-step point-of-care-diagnostic test, based on an innovative silicon chip, that requires less sample volume, is significantly faster, portable, easy to use, and can test for many diseases, including one of world&#39;s leading causes of death, cardiovascular disease*. The results are so quick and accurate that a small sample of a patient’s serum or blood, could be tested immediately following a heart attack, to enable the doctor to quickly take a course of action to help the patient survive.

					<title>New IBM Software Uses Sensors to Speed the Movement of Shipping Containers</title>

					IBM today unveiled new software that will enable businesses and governments to extract new business information from sensors to determine the whereabouts and conditions of millions of&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;returnable shipping containers used to transport goods around the world. Using the software, massive amounts of sensor data can be gathered in real-time, providing supply chain transparency and reducing inventory costs by as much as 40 percent.

					In a move that addresses fundamental challenges in creating advanced systems-on-chips (SoCs), ARM [(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq:  ARMH)], Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd. (Nasdaq:  CHRT, SGX: CHARTEREDSC), IBM (NYSE: IBM), Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd., and Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq:  SNPS) today announced at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) an agreement to develop a comprehensive technology enablement solution for the design and manufacture of mobile Internet-optimized devices. The objective of this collaboration is to leverage innovations in material science, mobile multimedia implementation and SoC design to lower risk and improve time-to-market for advanced mobile products.
