Intermediate Level Certification

IBM is pleased to announce the addition of the following job-role certification and applicable test to the Professional Certification Program from IBM (www.ibm.com/certify). This certification will be available worldwide April 8, 2011. By achieving this certification, intermediate level application developers have validated their knowledge and skills, and can demonstrate their technical competence to others.

IBM Certified Application Developer - WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS V7.1

Test 000-181, IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS V7.1, Application Development

This intermediate level certification is intended for technical professionals with a working knowledge of the IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS V7.1 platform needed to develop applications. These technical professionals have gained practical experience through the design and implementation of business rule solutions using IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS V7.1.

In particular, application developers need to demonstrate their experience with the:

• design of rule projects.
• rule orchestration
• design and authoring of rules
• generation and customization of rule reports.
• deployment of rules.
• rule execution integration.
• rule execution performance optimization.
• rule testing and simulation.
• use of all product modules (Rule Studio, Rule Team Server, Rule Execution Server, Rule Solutions for Office, Decision Validation Services, and Decision Warehouse).
• intermediate Java API of the product, including customization.
• trouble-shooting and debugging of rule applications.

To attain the certification credential, candidates must pass 1 test: Test 000-181.

Test 000-181 is designed to measure skills in the areas of:

Practical experience and in-depth product knowledge are required to ensure success on the test.

To help candidates prepare, the following information is provided, and accessible via IBM Certified Application Developer - WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS V7.1:

• job role description/target audience to which the test is built
• test objectives or detailed skills measured on the test
• test preparation / training resources used to prepare based on the test objectives
• assessment test to gauge ones readiness for the actual test

Test 000-181 is available via test delivery vendor Prometric (link resides outside of ibm.com).

Test 000-181 is also available to IBM employees at a reduced rate via the IBM SWG Prime Test Centers, and IBMers can obtain test registration information via certify@us.ibm.com.

Test 000-181 is a 120 minute test. The test fee is set to the economy of a country as $200 USD each in developed countries and $100 USD each in emerging market countries. The test delivery vendor can verify the specific test fee within each country.
