Job Role Description / Target Audience
This certification targets requirements analysts and requirements project leads with intermediate-level experience defining and managing requirements using IBM Rational Requirements Composer, V3.
The IBM Certified Specialist - Rational Requirements Composer, V3 is proficient at using Rational Requirements Composer V3 to collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and define requirements, to elaborate requirements using text-based artifacts and visual models, to conduct reviews and secure stakeholder approvals on project or system requirements. The Certified Specialist is skilled at using Rational Requirements Composer to manage requirements through the project lifecycle by using attributes, traceability, saved filters, dashboards, reports, and metrics to asses requirements coverage, the impact of change, and status. The Certified Specialist can lead requirements projects and implement an organization-s Requirements Management Plan in Requirements Composer. The Certified Specialist is skilled at creating, configuring, and customizing requirements projects, managing user roles and permissions, creating project snapshots, and defining project templates. The Certified Specialist is skilled at managing a stand-alone RM project or an RM project within the context of a Collaborative Lifecycle Project.
It is expected that this Certified Specialist will be generally self-sufficient and able to perform the tasks involved in the role with limited assistance from peers, product documentation and vendor support services.
To attain the IBM Certified Specialist - Rational Requirements Composer, V3 certification, candidates must pass 1 test. To prepare for this test, based on the job role and test objectives, refer to the Recommended Educational Resources.

- Understanding of requirements management processes and practices
- Understanding of how to manage requirements in the context of different development processes
- Real-word experience managing requirements
- Experience with requirements management tools
- Understanding of the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management and the IBM Rational Jazz Platform
