Note: This certification will be withdrawn on 12/31/2012.   The most current certifications are: IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 10.1 for Linux UNIX and Windows and IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 9.7 for Linux, Unix and Windows


If you are knowledgeable with DB2 9 and are capable of performing the intermediate to advanced skills required in the day-to-day administration of DB2 instances and databases, you may benefit from this certification role. 

To attain the IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 9 DBA for Linux, UNIX and Windows certification, candidates have two paths:  must pass 2 tests  or 3 tests

Candidates who have passed exam 700 - DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals, or who have acquired the IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 UDB V8.1 for Linux, UNIX and Windows certification (by passing both exams 700 and 701), only need to pass exam 731 - DB2 9 DBA for Linux, UNIX and Windows to obtain the Certified Database Administrator certification.

Recommended Prerequisite Skills

  • Significant experience as a DB2 9 Database Administrator.

This certification has 2 paths.

Path 1 requires 2 tests:

1.  1 of the following:

     Test 000-700DB2 V8.1 Family Fundamentals

     Test 000-730DB2 9 Family Fundamentals

2.  Test 000-731 - DB2 9 DBA for Linux UNIX and Windows

     

Path 2 requires 3 tests:

1.  1 of the following:

     Test 000-700 - DB2 V8.1 Family Fundamentals

     Test 000-730 - DB2 9 Family Fundamentals

2.  Test 000-701DB2 V8.1 for Linux UNIX and Windows Database Administration

3.  Test 000-736 - DB2 9 Database Administrator for Linux UNIX and Windows Upgrade
