IBM Certified Technical Sales Specialist - PowerLinux v1


Job Role Description / Target Audience


The IBM Certified Technical Sales Specialist - PowerLinux v1  is the key technical liaison between the customer, the Power Family solution sales person that represents the IBM product line, and IBM.  A successful candidate is able to determine customer requirements including growth, provides ongoing technical assistance to sales and account team, understands competitive offerings, and can size and determine the appropriate customer solutions (including solutions for server consolidation/virtualization). 

In addition, the successful candidate is expected to understand the capabilities and limitations of the PowerLinux server, can discuss other members of the Power Family of technologies, understands various Linux distributions and their viability in the customer environment, can articulate the value for PowerVM, and possesses knowledge across the range of IBM software products.

The Linux non-IBM certification required as a pre-requisite for this certification must be less than 2 years old. 


Requirements


This certification requires 1 certification + 1 test.

Certification(s) required:

Any 1 of the following certifications achieved within the last two years:

  1. CompTIA Linux+ powered by Linux Professional Institute
  2. Linux Professional Institute (LPI) - LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 or LPIC-3
  3. Red Hat Certified Engineer
  4. SAIR Linux Professional
  5. Novell (SUSE) Certified Linux Professional

This non-IBM certification also needs to be reported to PartnerWorld Profiling System (PPS) via the normal non-IBM certification reporting process.
