By now, you've no doubt realized there's a new face in the ISV and Developer Relations organization here at IBM.
As the new guy in town, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself, and tell you a bit about how I plan to help you make the most of your relationship with IBM.
First off, I think it's appropriate to make mention of my predecessor, Chris Wong. Chris led our marketing organization for close to two years, and was able to build some very successful inroads for our Business Partner community. Chris had an opportunity to move into a dynamic role within our marketing transformation organization—another great fit. We'll certainly miss him, and we wish him the best.
During my 10 year career at IBM, I've had the opportunity to hold several positions that have reinscribed the importance of our Business Partner community. Most recently, I worked as vice president of sales for our business continuity and resilience services business.
One of my first trips in my new role was to the Impact 2009 conference in Las Vegas, where I was able to speak to a number of you. One thing I heard repeatedly was that you want to collaborate with other Business Partners to expand your network. Here are three ways you can begin to network:
- Learn what collaboration benefits are available to you by
registering for the collaboration webcast from the "Boost your budget" series.
It's on Tuesday, 23 June at 11:00 a.m. ET.
- Register and participate at the newly launched
My developerWorks.
My developerWorks is a professional network and knowledge base that can help connect you with your peers worldwide, provide career building recognition, and maximize your productivity through easy to find, targeted technical resources.
- Create a value net using PartnerWorld Value Net Connections. A value net is comprised of Business Partners who work together to create repeatable solutions and Value Net Connections helps facilitate the introductions.
I know the importance of networking. My experience here at IBM reaffirms the value of creating collaborative, mutually profitable relationships with you and amongst you. We all are driving towards delivering superior value to our clients. You are critical to IBM's business, go-to-market strategy, and the daily work we do to ensure our clients' success.
It's an exciting time to be leading ISV and Developer Relations marketing at IBM. The economy has presented us with challenges and opportunities. We've reconfirmed our commitment to you with our recently launched Business Partner Charter. And I am personally enthused about getting to know you, and about growing our relationship to drive real-world value for our prospects and clients.
Sincerely,
Mike Riegel
Vice president of marketing, ISV and Developer Relations
IBM
