Three highly effective tactics to use today

Portrait of Mike Riegel As we begin the second half of the year, I wanted to start by thanking you for all of your hard work. Together we've closed a lot of business and I know we can continue that work this half. As I've met with Business Partners in my first month on the job, one of the first questions I always get is: How can I take advantage of all the great benefits IBM has to offer? Based on that question, I thought it would be good to share with you the three top rated offerings.

First up—our marketing resource managers continue to receive rave reviews. These dedicated marketing specialists help you create an end to end campaign to leverage all the benefits available to you. We created a special video to help you understand how a marketing resource manager assists a fictional company launch a product. Here is what one Business Partner said about working with their marketing resource manager: "We don't have a dedicated marketing department, but now IBM has taken on that role." That's the ultimate sign of a useful resource.

Another great offering is our Connect to Win events. Just last week, I hosted one in Raleigh and got to see the benefits myself. These events bring together senior executives from IBM and IBM Business Partners to explore ways to drive business together. But the primary purpose is to get you talking to other Business Partners. Of a Connect to Win event, one Business Partner said "To date, I have connected with three of the organizations that participated, (two business partners for partnering opportunities and one potential client). In every case, I reached out to these organizations as a follow up to the event." They are invitation only events; please talk to your IBM representative to find out more.

Finally, the Maximize your relationship seminars continue worldwide and continue to deliver excellent results. This seminar provides you with an overview of our benefits and gives you insight into what has worked well for others. It remains a valuable event.

As I said last month, it's an exciting and challenging time to be working in ISV and Developer Relations for IBM. Please take advantage of these three resources and please visit my blog (http://mikeriegel.wordpress.com/) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/mikeriegel).

Sincerely,
Mike Riegel
