Ian Bentinck

Ian has spent 18 years in the IT industry as a consultant and software developer, the last twelve in capital markets. He spent several years working in a large variety of derivatives exchanges, and was an early innovator in electronic trading, including the development of trade matching engines and early forms of algorithmic trading. In the last five years, Ian has focused on OTC derivatives, energy trading and the continuing development of electronic trading across the assets classes.

Ian currently heads up the IBM Trading and Derivatives Solutions Group in the Financial Markets Global Business Services Practise. He is an industry expert and provides the following services in the derivatives trading, risk and electronic trading spaces:

• strategic architecture and road-mapping
• sourcing strategy and software selections
• programme mobilisation and governance
• test strategy and management
• bespoke and package implementations
• applications maintenance & support
