BlueWare’s Wellness Connection is a server-based electronic patient record, utilizing C.O.L.D. (Computer Output to Laser Disk), document, and clinical multimedia imaging, with data and biomedical applications in development. By collecting data and images from various sites, information is captured and compressed and stored in electronic patient records folders. There are several ways that the information can be stored (tape, disk drive, or optical systems) and retrieved later.

Some of the special features of the Wellness Connection include: built-in community master/patient index, community health data network architecture, easy installation, training and simplistic software, excellent security features, and low cost.

The Cheboygan Memorial Hospital (CMH) is a non-profit community health care provider dedicated to providing personalized, quality health care services and education in response to community need. This institution needed a more efficient means for handling the paperwork necessary to help their patients.

BlueWare assisted CMH by implementing the Wellness Connection. This solution helped to provide critical information to doctors and other hospital departments promptly, securely, and easily. From its first deployment in medical records, big efficiencies were soon realized.

Nancy Barr, Director of Information Systems for the CMH said, “For something as critical as hospital records, 95 percent up-time just isn’t good enough. We ask a lot of our IBM hardware, and we get it.” BlueWare, in conjunction with IBM, successfully helped CMH greatly improve their patient care.
