In 1993, Ira Chandler, Curbstone's CTO, wrote the first native, commercial AS/400 credit card software. His company, Curbstone Corporation, has provided high performance, high reliability, security compliant software to over 200 corporations, institutions and government entities throughout the US and Canada, ranging from New York Life and Travelocity to large and small businesses.

Curbstone Payment Central Payment Central combines the reliability and security of IBM System i® with Curbstone Corporation's award-winning payment processing. Payment Central provides card authorization and automated settlement directly from the merchant's central, integrated, secure system on behalf of all networked business units of the enterprise, on any platform.

A central transaction processing engine connects the merchant to his choice of processing networks, eliminating the middle man and providing real-time payment processing, reporting and auditing of over a thousand transactions a minute. Payment Central is Payment Card Industry (PCI), PABP and CISP Security Validated (see http://visa.com/pabp).
