Curbstone sells and supports software for IBM System i™ technology (formerly IBM AS/400® technology). Curbstone Card software provides a scalable, secure payment processor — suitable for IBM Express Advantage™ System i offerings — that is priced and configurable to support the small business or the Fortune 1000 enterprise.
Curbstone Card helps deliver high-speed, multithreaded secure socket layer (SSL) connectivity to major card-processing networks. It can help businesses to submit the data required by banks or help acquirers to earn the lowest rates. Curbstone Card helps eliminate financial islands of information and allow seamless integration of payment processing.
Solution overview
Dultmeier Sales relied on a freestanding terminal for credit-card processing. For each order, the company manually entered the card number, expiration date and amount to authorize. After data entry, the device would slowly print the authorization. Dultmeier Sales staff then entered the authorization number and the previous information into the company’s System i technology. After shipment, staff members needed to reenter the authorization number, and then wait for the terminal to again print a receipt. Each of the 125 to 200 transactions a day required the same routine.

Curbstone Card allows Dultmeier to simply press a function key, enter the sale amount and then press a second function key to request the authorization. The company receives a response in seconds. Data-entry errors and wasted time are eliminated, and security is increased. The entire cycle to authorize, settle and deposit credit-card receipts is now completed in about 20 percent of the time required under the previous manual system.
Accounting staff can more-easily handle business growth and know immediately if there are any problems in clearing the card.
