Workflow.com: Workflow EHR

Workflow.com produces Workflow EHR, a Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT)-certified electronic health record that lets medical practitioners document patient encounters quickly and efficiently.

With Workflow EHR, medical practitioners have a choice: digitally enable existing paper forms and encounter patients without changing the way they work today, or use advanced, dynamic encounter technology to quickly document a visit and create a structured, final note. With Workflow EHR, medical practitioners capture clinical data with ease, streamline messaging and eliminate all paper files.

In 2005, Indiana University Health Center began addressing the issues of how to manage student health records more efficiently and make the content of those records more accessible and usable. Although the health center had an efficient paper-based records management system, it sought an electronic health record to enhance efficiency and access to patient health information. The health center also needed a solution that would scale appropriately to accommodate growth while continuing to enable the refinement of clinical and nonclinical processes.

Workflow EHR is helping Indiana University Health Center realize its vision of automating clinical tasks, improving data sharing among departments, improving communications among providers, and providing instantaneous and concurrent access to patient health information, all within a secure environment. The solution is locally hosted on IBM System x™ technology, locally managed by the IT staff at the health center.

Also under development is a patient portal that will offer Indiana University students access to their personal health records.
