AMR Research: Managing the biggest supply chain risk of all: Constant change
AMR Research regularly surveys global companies to measure risk: the levels found in global supply chains, the regions contributing the most significant risks, and their impact on how companies manage their businesses. In our most recent survey conducted in October, we asked 130 respondents about the risks they face in their global supply chains. They listed the following:
- Whiplash energy, commodity, and transportation costs wreak havoc even on the best-run supply chains
- Global companies face growing risks of product quality failure and intellectual property violations
- China still contributes the most risk to global supply chains
One thing is clear: There is no one-size-fits-all winning strategy for minimizing supply chain risk. Moreover, the one principle supply chains must be prepared for is constant change.
