Medical records come to life thanks to an IBM iSeries - based solution from BlueWare Inc.
Gerber Memorial Health Services (GMHS) is anchored by an 83-bed not for-profit hospital, the only one in Newaygo County, Michigan. It provides acute care, surgery, intensive and cardiac care, emergency services, a family birth center and pediatrics, as well as diagnostic, outpatient, rehabilitation and education services. There are two medical centers and several family practice offices – all in all, a continuum of care usually only found in big urban centers.
For GMHS, BlueWare’s Wellness Connection, an IBM iSeries-based electronic medical records system, was just what the doctor ordered. It saved money and increased efficiency. What’s more, by giving physicians remote access to medical information, it helped the hospital secure a $185,000 federal grant for a diabetes education program.
